Head Coach

Clint Wallman was named the head coach of the Indiana Women’s Golf program in 2004. During his time at Indiana, Wallman’s athletes have included multiple All-Big Ten honors and a Big Ten Freshman of the year. Additionally, under Wallman’s leadership, the team has set a school record for one-, two-, and three-round tournament scores, along with individual school record holders for the same.

Under Wallman, the Hoosiers have set milestones for the program, including the first NCAA appearance since 1997-98 being in 2007, his third season. The appearance also included the best finish at the NCAA Central Regional since 1997-98, when the team came in at fourth.

Prior to IU, Wallman spent time coaching at the University of New Mexico, where the Lobos received back-to-back NCAA Women’s Golf Tournament appearances and were nationally ranked among the top 10 for 33 consecutive weeks. The ranking included a high of No. 3 in March 2004.

Before his time at New Mexico, Wallman served as a teaching professional at Indian Canyon Golf Club in Spokane, Washington, on top of operating his own golf school. The owner-operator of the Clint Wallman Golf School from 1996-2002, Wallman developed and conducted instructional programs. Wallman also volunteered with the Spokane Youth Sports Association and various elementary and high school teams in the area.

As a teacher, Wallman has been praised as one of the premier golf instructors in the Pacific Northwest. He has been honored multiple times as the Inland Empire PGA Teacher of the Year (1996-98 and 2000), Pacific Northwest PGA Teacher of the Year (1998-99), and the 1999 Pacific Northwest PING Clubfitter of the Year. In addition to his honors, Wallman has also been ranked in Golf Digest and Golf Magazine among the top 10 teachers in Washington state. Golf Digest named Wallman among the top 10 teachers in the region and top 50 in America. Wallman frequently lectures for PGA of America on teaching and the development of video in teaching golf. In December 2009, Wallman received certification from the Titleist Performance Institute and utilizes the system with members of the IU Women’s Golf team and his students who receive lessons.

As a professional golfer, Wallman won the 1990 Chrysler National Putting competition, the Pacific Northwest Regional competition, the 1994 Spalding Shootout, the 1999 Inland Empire PGA Championship, and the 2002 Rossland Trail Open Championship. Wallman qualified twice for the U.S. Open Sectional in 1998 and 2001.

A 1985 Washington State University graduate, Wallman earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. As a student-athlete, the two-time captain won the 1984 Washington State Invitational title and still currently ranks among the all-time leaders in top-10 finishes. Wallman spent the 1984-95 season as an assistant coach for the Cougars.

As a student-athlete, Whyte split her collegiate career between Baylor University (2014-16) and the University of Denver (2016-18). At Baylor, Whyte was part of a Big 12 Conference Title team, as well as winning the first-ever NCAA San Antonio Regional in program history. At Denver, Whyte posted a 75.06 scoring average and was the team captain. The team posted an improved Golfstat ranking from 53 to 18 and claimed the 2017 Summit League Championship.
